Botswana.- In a strategic move to strengthen workplace culture and employee wellbeing, the Botswana Gambling Authority has convened an internal engagement forum titled “Pitso ya Borre” for all male staff.

The event, held on Sunday, January 25, provided a dedicated platform for male employees to engage in dialogue on topics including men’s care, emotional resilience, accountability and personal growth, key themes that underpin the Authority’s commitment to ethical leadership and responsible industry conduct.

The forum, which took place at the Authority’s headquarters, aimed to create a supportive and respectful environment in which male employees could reflect on their roles both within and beyond the workplace. Through guided discussions and open conversations, participants explored how making healthy decisions, fostering emotional strength and building mutual support systems contribute to individual development and broader organisational effectiveness.

Senior management highlighted that initiatives such as Pitso ya Borre reflect the Authority’s wider mission to protect the public and uphold high standards of professional conduct across the gambling industry. They underscored that investing in employee wellbeing is a strategic priority, noting that encouraging men to discuss personal and professional challenges can lead to improved decision-making, higher productivity and more empathetic leadership.

Participants shared insights on how accountability and personal wellbeing can reinforce ethical standards in the workplace. Discussions also touched on the roles male employees play as leaders, colleagues and contributors to a positive organisational culture founded on mutual care and respect.

The Authority expressed appreciation to all attendees for their contributions, stating that the forum forms part of ongoing efforts to embed a workplace culture rooted in care, accountability and service to the nation. Organisers reiterated their commitment to continuing similar engagements that promote employee wellbeing and professional excellence.
