Botswana Gambling Authority celebrates 10th anniversary with support for Chobe students
The donation forms part of the regulator’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts.
Botswana.- The Gambling Authority of Botswana has donated new school uniforms to students from underprivileged families in the Chobe District as part of activities marking its 10th anniversary celebrations.
The uniforms were officially handed over to district leadership on Friday morning following a community initiative in which brand new uniforms were sewn for vulnerable learners in the area.
According to the Authority, the project was designed to support disadvantaged students, help keep children in school and provide relief to families facing financial difficulties.
The donation forms part of the regulator’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts as it celebrates a decade of operations in Botswana’s gambling sector.
In a statement issued during the anniversary celebrations, the Authority said it was proud to have served Batswana for the past 10 years through its regulatory work and responsible gambling campaigns.
The regulator described the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on its efforts to promote fair play, consumer protection and responsible gambling awareness across the country. Officials added that the Chobe District initiative demonstrates the Authority’s commitment to ensuring communities also benefit from the country’s regulated gambling industry.
Over the past decade, the Gambling Authority has overseen licensed gambling activities in Botswana while working to strengthen compliance standards, industry integrity and player protection measures.
The regulator characterised the anniversary as “a decade of fair play” and reaffirmed its commitment to responsible gambling and community development initiatives in Botswana.
