Botswana Gambling Authority joins Molepolole book fest to promote public awareness
The regulator said informed communities are better positioned to make decisions that support social and economic development.
Botswana.- The Botswana Gambling Authority has partnered with the Molepolole International Book Fest as part of its wider responsible gambling and public awareness efforts in Botswana.
In a statement issued on Saturday, April 25, the regulator said the collaboration was aimed at promoting education, informed decision-making and community engagement through literature and public discussions. The book festival was held under the theme “Growing a World of Voice”, bringing together writers, readers and community stakeholders.
According to the Authority, its participation reflects a broader regulatory approach that combines public education and social responsibility with oversight of gambling operators. The statement read: “As the Authority, our commitment goes beyond regulation. We actively support initiatives that promote awareness, responsible decision-making and community wellbeing. We continue to encourage critical thinking and informed choices in all areas of life.”
The regulator added that informed communities are better positioned to make decisions that support social and economic development.
The Authority’s partnership with the book festival forms part of its wider push to engage with community programmes beyond the gaming sector. In recent years, the regulator has increased its focus on responsible gambling campaigns, consumer awareness and stakeholder partnerships as Botswana’s betting market expands.
