The sports betting operator has expanded its partnership with the Ghana Football Association, extending support to the Black Stars and Black Queens ahead of major international competitions.

Ghana.- betPawa has announced a support package worth more than US$300,000 to support Ghana’s national football teams through its partnership with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as preparations continue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaigns.

Borah Ndanyungu, head of local marketing and corporate social responsibility at betPawa, said the company’s support for Ghana football remains rooted in a long-term vision for the sport. “Partnerships matter most when they endure beyond a single season or a single competition. Our relationship with Ghana football has been built on trust, shared ambition and measurable impact. We are proud to continue walking this journey with the GFA as Ghana pursues success on the continental and world stage,” she said, according to Business & Financial Times Ghana.

The support package builds on betPawa’s existing involvement in Ghanaian football. Beyond sponsorship of domestic competitions, the operator has gained recognition through its Locker Room Bonus initiative, which rewards players directly following victories in the Ghana Premier League and Women’s Premier League. The programme has already distributed more than US$500,000 in bonuses to players, providing direct financial support to footballers across the country.

For the GFA, the latest sponsorship arrives at a crucial period as both national teams gear up for major continental and global assignments. GFA Vice President Mark Addo welcomed the partnership, describing betPawa’s contribution to football development as significant and noting that the support would assist the Black Stars and Black Queens in their preparations for upcoming tournaments.

Addo commended betPawa for its continued investment in players and national teams, saying such partnerships create meaningful impact in the lives of athletes and contribute to the long-term growth of the game.

He said the partnership demonstrated confidence in the future of Ghana football and highlighted the important role corporate support continues to play in the development of the sport.  According to him, the support package goes beyond financial assistance and serves as a strong endorsement of the players’ ability to represent the country successfully on the international stage.
