The sports betting leader strengthens grassroots football and community initiatives, supporting local talent and fostering sports opportunities.
Nigeria.- BetKing, Nigeria’s leading sports betting and digital entertainment brand, has announced the renewal of its official partnership with Ikorodu City Football Club for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
This marks the third consecutive year of collaboration between the two organisations, cementing a shared commitment to youth development, grassroots football and community empowerment.
BetKing, which operates through KingMakers, has been instrumental in supporting the team since 2023, helping them rise rapidly through the ranks, secure promotion to the NPFL in 2024, and finish an impressive fourth place in their debut 2024/25 campaign. Their season was highlighted by a record-breaking 6–0 victory over Katsina United, one of the most dominant results in NPFL history.

Gossy Ukanwoke, Managing Director of KingMakers and CEO of BetKing, said they are proud to continue this journey with Ikorodu City FC. “Our partnership is more about investing in Nigerian football, nurturing talent and creating moments of pride. From the 6-0 victory to the commissioning of our Ifako Ijaiye sports complex and our support for Paralympians, our focus is on building a stronger, more inclusive sports ecosystem for all”, he said.
Shaping champions beyond sponsorship
Ikorodu City Football Club Chairman, Sanmi Doherty, added: “BetKing has been more than a sponsor. They have been a catalyst for our vision. From promotion to a top-four NPFL finish and one of the most dominant results in the league, their support has been transformational.”
Beyond football, BetKing has demonstrated a broad commitment to Nigerian sports and community engagement. The company recently commissioned a modern mini sports complex at Ifako Ijaiye, benefiting more than 400,000 community members.
Its inclusive initiatives include supporting para-athletics at the National Sports Festival in Ogun State, organising the BetKing Wheelchair Basketball Championship, and partnering with the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria.
As the 2025/26 NPFL season approaches, both BetKing and Ikorodu City Football Club appear poised to continue shaping the future of Nigerian football, inspiring fans and creating a more inclusive sporting ecosystem across the nation.
