Nigeria.- Nigerian football legend Augustine ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, in partnership with BetKing, has led a groundbreaking effort to set a new Guinness World Record for the most people juggling a football in the air for three minutes

The event, held on June 28 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, was part of the promotional campaign for the official launch of JJ BallX, a BetKing crash game that captures the dynamic spirit of Nigerian street football.

The record-breaking attempt featured 2,000 participants from several parts of Nigeria, including young and experienced football fans, all driven by their respect for Okocha and love for the game. To achieve the record, each participant was required to keep a football in the air for at least three minutes using only their feet, knees or head.

The event was made more lively with live music and cultural celebration, while fans received free jerseys and footballs signed by the Super Eagles icon. Before the challenge began, Okocha, known for his excellent ball control, thrilled the crowd with a display of his signature dribbling skills.

Under the supervision of Guinness World Records adjudicators, participants kept their balls in the air as they juggled in sync. Organisers also ensured each player controlled their football for the full three minutes.

Pending official confirmation from Guinness World Records, the record attempt has generated huge buzz across Nigeria on social media, with the videos and photos from the event going viral. Now, fans await the announcement of the outcome of the record attempt, which is expected in the coming weeks.

A BetKing spokesperson said: “This was more than football, it is a declaration that Nigeria’s street footballers, dreamers and believers deserve to be seen, heard and remembered.”
