Bet9ja’s Football Carnival lights up Nigeria’s youth with sport and music
Bringing together young stars, big names and a love for the game, Bet9ja’s event was all about celebrating the energy and talent that makes Nigeria’s youth so special.
Nigeria.- Betting giant Bet9ja is stepping up as a major force in youth entertainment and culture. With more than 60 per cent of Nigeria’s population being under 30, the company recently launched a high-energy Football Carnival aimed at connecting with the country’s young people through the electric mix of football, music and pop culture.
Young players from throughout the country sent in videos to get a chance to take part, and the response was huge with a total of over 7,000 attendees. The lively event at the Fidelity Ground in Lagos comprised street football matches, energetic tunes and familiar personalities.
Jennifer Olatunji, Senior Marketing Manager at Bet9ja, said the event focussed on the youth and their interests. “At Bet9ja, we curate moments that speak directly to the heart of Nigerian youth culture. Through football, music and community, we’re celebrating what makes us uniquely Nigerian,” she said, according to Bold Sports.
More than half of Nigeria consists of the young population, said Olatunji. “Over 60% of Nigeria’s population is under the age of 30. That’s not just a statistic, it’s a powerful movement. At Bet9ja, we see this youthful energy as the heartbeat of our nation.”

Stars blaze, futures soar
Bet9ja cheerleaders, fans, influencers, sports personalities and entertainers gathered to make the event more dynamic. Former football star Victor Ikpeba made a powerful appearance, showing why he remains a legend in Nigerian football.
Social media influencer and content creator Mubarak_O_O, who was on the ground capturing the energy, said there was great talent at the event. “Some of these entries for the Bet9ja Football Carnival are serious ballers,” he said.
On the pitch and on stage, rapper Yhemolee and actor Zubby Michael brought plenty of energy, while comedians Shank and Sheggz kept the crowds entertained. Musicians like Terry G, Shoday, Bella Shmurda, Hanni x Wandi and Buju kept the crowd dancing with their performances.
But Bet9ja isn’t just about entertainment. Through the Bet9ja Foundation Scholarship, a ₦2 million ($1,308) charity donation and sponsorship of Nigeria’s oldest football competition, the Edo FA Cup, they’re also investing in young Nigerians’ futures.
This event showed Bet9ja’s commitment to more than just business in Nigeria as they aim to inspire and support a whole generation.
