Betting and gaming operator strengthens its CSR strategy with fourth consecutive year of support for Gira Kilamba Kiaxi street football tournament.

Angola.- Angolan online sports betting and gaming operator BantuBet has strengthened its corporate social responsibility drive after backing the Gira Kilamba Kiaxi street football tournament for the fourth consecutive year, awarding more than Kz6m (€5,900) in prize money to finalist teams.

The three-month competition brought together more than 20 teams in Luanda, reinforcing its role as a growing platform for grassroots football development.

For BantuBet, the tournament forms part of a broader strategy to use sport as a tool for youth development, social cohesion and community empowerment, while creating opportunities for local talent beyond the pitch. “In total, more than Kz6m was awarded in prizes, recognising the merit of the finalist teams and encouraging local talent,” the company said.

BantuBet said its continued support reflects its long-term commitment to expanding opportunities for young people through sport across Angola. “We remain committed to sport as an engine of social impact. For the fourth consecutive year, we are proud to support this initiative, actively contributing to the development of youth, the promotion of positive values and the strengthening of communities,” the operator added.

The final extended beyond football, combining sport, music and culture. The Battle of the Funguiceiros added a strong community element, while a live performance by Latin singer Queen helped draw wider local participation.

The event also attracted officials from the Kilamba Kiaxi Administration and representatives from Angola’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, reflecting the role private sector-backed initiatives continue to play in youth sport development.
