888 Holdings has been awarded a provisional sports betting licence to take wagers in Virginia.

US.- 888 Holdings has been added to the list of approved Virginia sportsbooks as the Virginia Lottery continues to work towards approving licensees that remain on hold. Virginia is still a relatively new sports betting market but has seen significant growth since its regulation. 

According to the Virginia Lottery, over $1.95bn has now been wagered, including $293m in September 2021, which was a 61 per cent increase on the prior month. There are ten online Virginia sportsbooks live in the state, with the most recent launch coming last week. 888 Holdings and Betway will be added to the list.

888 holds licences for market access in nine states: Delaware, Colorado, Iowa, New Jersey, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and now, Virginia.
