Wynn gets ready for Massachusetts hearing

Wynn Resorts will soon present before the state’s Gaming Commission to make its case for a gaming licence.

US.- A major Wynn Resorts Ltd committee will attend a hearing with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission next month in order to push for a casino licence. The entire board of directors is expected to attend the meeting in order to answer the regulators’ questions and fulfill its needs in order to get the permit.

According to the company’s chairman Phil Satre, the board and CEO Matt Maddox are expected to present the company’s case before the MGC in order to be found suitable to hold a gaming licence. Wynn is on hold until a lawsuit against its former company and Gaming Commission Investigator over alleged used of privileged information to prepare a report focused on allegations of sexual harrassment.

Until its legal situation is clear, Wynn will continue on hold, even as its US$2.5 billion Encore Boston Harbor project is set to open in June.

“We know we have to get past the regulatory environment that we’re dealing with right now and we’ll do our best to convince our regulators of our qualification, the changes that we’ve made and I would be remiss if I didn’t say I’m optimistic because I believe in the steps that have been taken,” Phil Satre said.
