Work resumes on new casino in British Colombia
While casinos remain closed in British Colombia, work has resumed on the Cascades Casino Delta.
Canada.- Although there is still no reopening date on the horizon for gambling venues in British Colombia due to Covid-19 countermeasures, work has resumed on the $87m Cascades Casino Delta.
Construction began in 2019, and was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, but work has resumed with a reduced workforce.
The new casino in Delta is located at the former Delta Town & Country Inn site. It will include a 40,000-square-foot gaming floor with up to 600 slot machines and 30 gaming tables, as well as a Match Eatery & Public House, a buffet and Atlas Steak + Fish restaurant.
According to the Optimist newspaper, a Gateway Casino & Entertainment spokesperson said the construction of the elevated concrete slab is nearing completion and work is starting on the steel structure nearest to the highway. Work on the roads surrounding the main driveway will start in the next few months.
However, the casino operator is now focused on the reopening of its existing casinos. After the Gateway properties can resume operations, the company will give further details on the Delta project.
