Gateway facility in Delta to start construction
Construction on the US$70 million casino will begin soon in Delta, as the plans for the facility were approved this week.
Canada.- The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has approved the civil works plan for Cascades Casino Delta. The mid-size gaming and entertainment venue is scheduled to open in 2020.
The Gateway Casinos & Entertainment casino project was approved in November 2018 by the British Columbia Lottery Commission (BCLC). It will be located on the old Delta Town & Country Inn site. It was the only suitable site, according to the city council, which provided its approval in May 2018, as it is far from residential neighbourhoods and close to major transportation corridors.
“We are very excited to finally be starting construction of the new Cascades Casino Delta,” said Tony Santo, Gateway’s CEO. “We look forward to bringing this state-of-the-art entertainment destination to such a vibrant and rapidly growing community,” he added.
In addition to the 500 slots, the 161k square feet floor area will host 24 table games and six electronic table games and it will have a 124-room hotel, restaurants and meeting space built within the site. The casino floor will occupy 42k square feet.
