US.- West Virginia’s sports betting handle reached $76.9m for the month of September with the return of pro football and the launch of William Hill’s sports betting app.
The figure marks a 90.3 per cent increase over August’s $40.4 million handle. Revenue increased by 133 per cent month-on-month from $1.97m to $4.6m.
Igaming also produced strong results, generating a handle of $74.8 million, an 89.3 per cent increase from August.
DraftKings and BetMGM currently operate mobile casino platforms in the state, while NetEnt is soon to launch through a partnership with BetMGM.
West Virginia is one of 17 states with regulated sports betting that contributed to a record-breaking nationwide handle in September, which exceeded $25bn.
