West Virginia igaming revenue hits $2.8m
West Virginia’s igaming and sports betting market launched during the pandemic and continues to grow.
US.- After launching in July 2020, the igaming market continues to grow in West Virginia.
According to figures released by the West Virginia Lottery, the igaming market generated a total of $2.8m in earnings in January 2020, around $250,000 more than December 2020.
During the full month, bettors placed more than $100m in wagers.
The operators that brought in the most revenue were DraftKings and BetMGM, accounting for around $575,000 each per week.
Since launching in July, the market has seen over $475m in bets placed with earnings of over $12m.
Sports betting revenue has also risen in West Virginia, with the majority of bets being placed on mobile platforms.
