Washington: governor approves tribal sports betting deals
Governor Jay Inslee has approved tribal deals to allow sports betting in Washington state’s casinos.
US.- Agreements to allow sports betting at Washington state’s tribal casinos now have the signature of Governor Jay Inslee. They now only require federal approval from the Department of the Interior to come into force.
Governor Jay Inslee approved agreements with 15 tribes while another tribe was okayed by the state Gambling Commission.
“This will give people the opportunity to participate in a new gaming activity that is safe and well regulated by the tribes,” Inslee said.
The tribes in question are: The Colville, Cowlitz, Jamestown S’Klallam, Kalispel, Lummi, Muckleshoot, Puyallup, Shoalwater Bay, Snoqualmie, Spokane, Squaxin Island, Stillaguamish, Suquamish, Swinomish, and Tulalip tribes. The agreements had been awaiting the governor’s signature for around a month.
Meanwhile, the Skokomish Lucky Dog Casino has got approval from the state gambling commission.
