Virginia sports betting handle rises in September
The handle increased 18.5 per cent year-over-year and 44.6 from August 2025.
US.- The Virginia Lottery has released its report on sports wagering activity for September. The sports betting handle was $737.9m, up 18.5 per cent compared to the same month in 2024 and 44.6 from August 2025. Of the total handle, mobile wagers totalled $731.5m and retail bets $5.6m.
Adjusted gross revenue (AGR) was $64.5m. Winnings totalled $667.4m, which meant a combined 9.46 per cent operator win percentage. Of the fourteen mobile operators and three casinos authorised, ten reported net positive AGR for September, leading to $9.7m in tax payments.
Casino revenue at Hard Rock Bristol, Rivers Casino Portsmouth, and Caesars Virginia was $73.1m. That’s an increase of 29.2 per cent year-over-year and a decrease of 13.8 per cent from August 2025. Slots generated $55.6m and table games $17.4m.
