Virginia sports betting handle increases in April

US.- The Virginia Lottery has released its report on sports wagering activity for April. The sports betting handle was $609.7m, 8.2 per cent higher than in April 2024. Mobile wagers reached $603.1m while bettors wagered $6m at retail locations.

Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) totalled $56.1m. Of the fourteen mobile operators and three casinos were authorised to accept wagers in the state, eleven operators reported net positive AGR, leading to $8.5m in tax payments for the month. Bettors won $546.9m for a 10.3 per cent operator win percentage.

Casino revenue for the month totalled $78.8m, down 7.6 per cent from March. Slot revenue reached $59.5m and table games revenue $19.1m. Caesars Virginia reported $32.4m in adjusted gross gaming revenue, Rivers Casino Portsmouth $25.2m and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol $21m.
