Virginia casino revenue rises in January
Revenue increased 12 per cent year-over-year.
US.- The Virginia Lottery has released its report on casino gaming activity for January. Revenue from the five casinos in the state was $81m. That’s an increase of 12 per cent year-over-year.
Of the total casino revenue, slots generated $61m and table games $20m. The state collected $14.6m in taxes paid to the Gaming Proceeds Fund.
According to the report, Caesars Virginia led the market with $30.5m in adjusted gross revenue (AGR): $21.8m from slots and $8.7m from table games. Rivers Casino Portsmouth posted $25.2m, with $18.5m from slots and $6.8m from table games, and Hard Rock Bristol $19.6m, ($15.8m from slots and $3.7m from table games).
Live! Petersburg, which opened on January 22, reported $4.7m in AGR, with $3.9m from slots and $789,200 from table games, and The Interim Gaming Hall in Norfolk generated $1m from slots.
The Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk opened in November 2025, ahead of a $750m permanent casino expected to open in 2027. Located off Park Avenue, it’s the first gaming venue in Norfolk.
