Vietnam casinos expects a boost in revenues
Last week a draft decree allowing entry to Vietnamese natives was submitted to the government.
Vietnam.- Vietnam casinos expect a massive boost after a draft decree allowing entry to Vietnamese natives was submitted to the government.
The discussions have lasted around seven years, but the Ministry of Finance was positive about the outcome.
“We hope that this will be the last draft, already we have seen a lot of revisions before its submission in June,” said the MoF’s Nguyen Huy Dat.“We took these issues into consideration when we composed the draft. However, the final decision will be made by the government.”
In addition to the draft bill on locals, there is a reduction on the amount needed to develop casino resorts. Developers needed at least US$4 billion to plan Vegas-style complexes, amount that has now dropped to just US$2 billion.
There are eight casinos operating around Vietnam at the moment. The Grand Ho Tram now has a major poker room and is currently the country’s largest integrated gambling and entertainment resort.
