Vermont sports betting handle increases year-over-year in May

The betting handle was up 28 per cent from May 2024.

US.- Vermont’s sports betting handle was $16.26m in May, up 28 per cent year-over-year and up slightly from $16.23m in April. Adjusted gross wagering revenue was $1.7m and winnings totalled $14.4m.

According to Vermont’s Department for Liquor and Lottery, basketball led the market with $3.9m in bets, followed by baseball with $3.5m, tennis with $1.7m, soccer with $1.4m and ebasketball with $641,498.

Of the total handle, $12.1m was wagered in Vermont and $4.1m out of state. There were 14,965 active users: 8,952 in the state, and 6,013 out of state. The number of bets reached 591,493, with 477,678 in Vermont and 113,815 out-of-state.

Vermont’s online sports betting market opened in January 2024.
