Wynn Al Marjan Island and Punchdrunk announce landmark immersive theater partnership
The collaboration will debut a bespoke production in 2027 at the Ras Al Khaimah integrated resort, blending immersive storytelling with traditional revue-style performance formats, marking Punchdrunk’s first entry into the MENA region.
Wynn Resorts Ltd. and the immersive theatre company Punchdrunk has announced a landmark partnership to create an original live entertainment production for Wynn Al Marjan Island, set to debut alongside the resort’s opening in 2027. The project represents Punchdrunk’s first production in the Middle East and North Africa region, and is being positioned as a flagship entertainment offering within the UAE’s expanding integrated resort landscape.
The production will be conceived and directed by Punchdrunk Artistic director and founder Felix Barrett MBE in collaboration with Wynn Resorts CEO Craig S. Billings. Inspired by the format of a classic Las Vegas revue, the show will combine world-class song and dance with an interactive structure that allows audiences to choose their experience. Guests will either attend a traditional seated performance or opt for a roaming immersive journey through backstage and hidden areas, with each path offering a distinct perspective on the same narrative.
According to the announcement, the theatre itself has been designed as a modern reinterpretation of classic performance venues, drawing on Art Deco influences and cinematic references from Hollywood’s golden age and 1970s Las Vegas. The space will be fully integrated into the experience, with “every area, from the lobby and aisles to the toilets and lifts” contributing to the storytelling environment.
Wynn Resorts highlighted the collaboration as part of its broader entertainment strategy across its integrated resorts. “Among the dozens of unique and transportive guest experiences we offer in our resorts, entertainment has always been an essential element,” said Craig S. Billings. “With Punchdrunk, we are creating something entirely original for Wynn Al Marjan Island. A theatrical world that could only exist here, and one that reflects the craft and dedication to artistry at the heart of Wynn.”
