Turning Stone expansion project to open ahead of schedule
The new Crescent Hotel is to open in June.
US.- The Oneida Indian Nation has announced that construction of the $370m Turning Stone Evolution expansion project in New York is ahead of schedule. The new Crescent Hotel and Salt Seafood and Raw Bar are now expected to open in June 29, 2026, while the convention and conference space, called the Grand Expo, will open by Labor Day. The resort expansion was initially expected to be completed by 2027.
The venue will double its existing conference and events space with the 165,000-square-foot Grand Expo, a new meeting and convention facility with an outdoor courtyard, reception areas and two new ballrooms. The new hotel tower will have 258 guest rooms and suites and indoor connectivity to The Grand Expo and the resort’s restaurants, event centre and gaming floor.
Ray Halbritter, the nation’s representative and CEO of Turning Stone Enterprises, said: “Everything the Evolution is creating will allow us to compete with some of the top tourism and events markets in the country. Destinations like New York City, Chicago, Orlando and more. (It will) demonstrate what we have always known about Upstate New York: that we have everything these destinations offer and more.”
