Turning Stone Enterprises announces promotions and new hires
The Turning Stone Evolution will open in June.
US.- Turning Stone Enterprises has announced promotions and new hires ahead of the June 29 opening of the Turning Stone Evolution in New York. Jerry Marrello has been promoted to senior vice president for hospitality after 20 years with Turning Stone, including as a server at Emerald Restaurant, director of nightlife, general manager of Point Place Hotel Casino and most recently vice president for regional casinos.
Meanwhile, Chris Thomas will become the chef de cuisine for Sal, moving from his role as a chef with the Turning Stone banquets team. Felix Mares, formerly event technology director, was named director of event technology and telecommunications and Chelsey Lavere was promoted from the role of senior sales manager for meetings and conventions to associate director of sales.
Shenequa Wittman, assistant executive housekeeper for the Brook and Tower Hotels at Turning Stone, will help lead the housekeeping team at The Crescent as its assistant executive housekeeper. Lloyd Bansil will be executive chef and will also oversee culinary operations at Salt and The Grand Expo.
Kevin Reeder is front office manager, Michael Yaffe, previously executive chef at Foxwoods Resort, was appointed assistant executive chef for banquets, and Matthias Maier was named director of banquet operations. He held similar leadership roles at Aria and Vdara Las Vegas.

Turning Stone Evolution includes The Crescent, the resort’s fourth hotel and The Salt: Seafood & Raw Bar. The Grand Expo, which doubles the resort’s meetings and conventions space to 200,000 square feet, will open Labour Day Weekend.
