Tonto Apache Tribe launches sportsbook in Arizona
Mazatzal Hotel & Casino will offer retail and mobile sports wagering in partnership with Churchill Downs’ TwinSpires Sportsbook.
US.- The Tonto Apache Tribe has become the first tribe to launch a sportsbook in Arizona. In partnership with Churchill Downs‘ TwinSpires Sportsbook, Mazatzal Hotel & Casino will offer retail sports wagering on professional, college, and international sport and athletic events.
The tribe has also launched mobile sports betting through the TwinSpires online app.
Tonto Apache chairman Calvin Johnson said: “Over the last several years, we have worked diligently to secure our sports wagering license and today marks a significant milestone for Tonto Apache.
“In conjunction with our world-class partner, we look forward to offering a dynamic sportsbook, supporting the local community, and bringing more visitors and sports fans to the Mazatzal Hotel & Casino.

Tonto Apache is one of 10 tribes that applied for and were awarded sports betting licences under new legislation that was passed in time for the start of the NFL season.
