Tigre de Cristal removes poker tables

The Russian casino Tigre de Cristal has been forced to remove its poker tables due to illegal gambling operators.

Russia.- Tigre de Cristal, one of the newest casinos in Europe, announced that it has been forced to remove all of its poker tables because of an increase competition from gambling operators that work illegally in the country.

Ever since the Primorye casino opened its doors in November 2015, it enjoyed a good VIP gambling rise, but officials admitted that they’ve been struggling with unauthorised local competition in the zone. According to Betting Business Russia, Craig Ballantyne, director of G1 Entertainment, the company that operates the casino, said that they had been forced to shut down the operations because the costs were to high to compete with the rising illegal activity in Primorye.

Ballantyne reported in November that the second phase of the casino of 1 million square feet will be ready to open in 2018 and will offer a four star hotel with more than 300 rooms and a 200 room five star counterpart. Furthermore, it will also feature 500 additional slots and 100 VIP gaming tables and that they could generate more than 2000 new jobs.
