Tennessee one step closer to launching sports betting

The lottery’s Sports Wagering Committee has granted three operators conditional approval.

US.- The Tennessee Education Lottery Corp Sports Wagering Committee has granted conditional approval to three operators that hope to launch in the state.

It has granted conditional approval to BetMGM, DraftKings and FanDuel after reviewing their applications at a meeting yesterday (Wednesday). Full approval is expected to be confirmed at the committee’s next meeting on October 5.

Tennessee Action 24/7 has also submitted an application but it was not reviewed in yesterday’s meeting.

CEO and president of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corp, Rebecca Hargrove, said during the meeting: “Vendors, suppliers and operators have to be approved before moving ahead. Until the operator’s supplier is approved, the operator can’t go live. Some won’t be approved until our next meeting.”

Regulated sports betting is expected to launch in the state no later than November this year. It will be the first US market in which all wagers take place online.
