Swedish iGaming market continues to grow
The Swedish regulator has issued new online gambling licences and has expanded the total market to 65 total companies.
Sweden.- The online gaming market continues to expand in Sweden as new companies continue to get clearance to operate in the country. The Swedish regulator, Spelinspektionen, has just issued five new licences and added new operators to reach a total 65 in the recently regulated segment.
Back on January 1, Sweden launched the iGaming market with several licenced operators but it continues to expand it. The most recently authorised companies are Dreambox Games (Chanz.com), Ellmount Gaming (Casinoroom.com), Legolas Invest (legolas.bet and mobile.legolas.bet), More Tech Group (superlottoclub.com) and Pixel Digital (pixel.bet).
Other iGaming giants like GVC Holdings, Stars Group, LeoVegas, Unibet, Bet365 and Betsson Group have already got their own licences to launch in the country.
All licensees have been recently warned by Spelinspektionen after it was revealed that there were shortcomings in the the Spelpaus self-exclusion registry area. “If the gaming companies lack the requirement to check and stop players who have self-excluded, it can be considered a serious breach of the regulations, which could lead to them losing their licence,” said the regulator.
