Swedish court dismisses SafeEnt’s appeal

The Swedish Administrative Court has dismissed SafeEnt’s appeal regarding the revocation of its licences.

Sweden.- Spelinspektionen, the gambling regulator from Sweden, has announced that the Administrative Court has dismissed SafeEnt’s appeal in regards to the revocation of the company’s online gaming and betting licences.

The decision means that SafeEnt will not be allowed to conduct gaming operations in Sweden in the future. The Administrative Court sided with the regulator reading the revocation of the licences. SafeEnt had violated a number of rules related to consumer protection and money laundering laws.

Spelinspektionen said that it welcomes the decision which is of great importance for the re-regulated gaming market in Sweden. “All operators with a license must follow the rules that exist. It is especially necessary that rules of great importance for the protection of consumers are complied with. If we are to be able to ensure a healthy and safe gaming market, we must exclude those players who do not comply with essential parts of the applicable regulations,” the regulator said.

The regulator’s review showed that SafeEnt has violated a number of the most important gambling laws in the country. These aim to protect players against excessive gambling. One of the discoveries includes customers spending large amounts of money without the company reacting to what the regulations require. They were also able to play well beyond their own deposit limits.
