Studio City features eSports venue
The Macau facility is set to open today an eSports venue called “Macau Estadium”.
Macau.- Melco Resorts and Entertainment is promoting an eSports venue called “Macau Stadium”, which is set to open today at Cotai’s Studio City. The new facility is currently branded as the first of its kind in the city.
According to an invitation by Melco Resorts, “the Macau Estadium is a cutting-edge e-Sports multifunctional development, and it aims to build a gateway and a strong foundation for the e-sports development in Macau, GGRAsia reported.
The company, which is aiming to attract a new generation of players through its eSports services, had already hosted an eSports event at the casino in April: the “2018 League of Legends Master Series (LMS) Spring Final” event had a live audience of 2,000 people. At the time, Melco said that “China accounts for over half of the global e-Sports audience, with the majority being aged 30 or below, an audience group which has generally been less represented in Macau’s tourism demographics.”
