Steve Wynn voices his opinion about rival casinos in Massachusetts
The casino mogul declared he does not care about the development of rival casinos in the state.
US.- Yesterday (Tuesday,) casino mogul Steve Wynn declared he doesn’t care about a rival casino developed south of Boston by the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe.
The comment comes after the tribe announced the new casino expected opening date in 2018 and unveiled the new design renders. The Cape Cod-based tribe’s gambling facility will be located in the south of Boston.
Wynn visited Massachusetts to meet with area mayors and lawmakers. He is currently discussing his proposed Boston-area casino, tentatively titled the Wynn Boston Harbor. Wynn’s project on the Everett waterfront was supposed to break ground this spring but has been put on hold pending a series of legal and environmental challenges. The casino operator affirmed he had no intention to meet or negotiate with Somerville, the neighboring city challenging the state environmental permit for his US$1.7 billion casino.
