South Dakota gaming handle rises in March
Casino wagers increased 8.6 per cent year-over-year.
US.- South Dakota casino wagers reached $145.5m in March, up 8.6 per cent year-over-year. Of the total handle, slot machines generated $134.9m, an increase of 9 per cent, while table games generated $9m, up 2.8 per cent.
The sports betting handle totalled $1.6m, an increase of 3.5 per cent year-over-year. The NCAA Men’s BB generated a $1.4m handle, followed by the NBA ($91,740) and MLB ($52,269). Operators recorded a statistical win of $155,779.
According to the Department of Revenue, taxable adjusted gross revenue (AGR) was $12.6m. The state collected $1.1m in taxes, with 1 per cent allocated to the State General Fund and the remainder distributed to other funds, including tourism and Lawrence County.
