South Dakota casino gaming handle increases in October
Casino visitors wagered $155.6m, up 5.5 per cent year-over-year.
US.- South Dakota casino visitors wagered $155.6m in October. That’s an increase of 5.5 per cent year-over-year and a slight increase from September’s $155.4m.
According to the Department of Revenue, $146.5m of the handle came from slots (up 5.2 per cent) and $8m from table games (up 12.1 per cent). Taxable adjusted gross revenue totalled $13.8m.
The sports betting handle totalled $999,530 in October. That’s an increase of 5.5 per cent from the same month in 2024. The National Football League (NFL) generated wagers of $421,875, followed by NCAA FB with $339,196 and MLB with $115,872. NBA generated $34,029 and NHL $28,324. Tax totalled $1.2bn.
For the year-to-date, the handle was $1.4bn, up 2.14 per cent year-over-year. Of the total, $1.3bn came from slot machines and $79 came from table games. The sports betting handle was $8.4m.
