The milestone event was more than just a ribbon cutting; it was a statement of ambition, marked by a speech from Silvio Schembri, Malta’s minister for economy, enterprise, and strategic projects. The company has transitioned from physical data centres to cloud-based infrastructure, enabling dynamic scaling that optimises energy use. This shift has reduced energy consumption by up to 30 per cent, reinforcing its ability to balance high-performance technology with eco-conscious operations.

In addition, Soft2Bet has embraced renewable-energy-powered data centres, lowering its carbon footprint by up to 50 per cent. These efforts highlight its commitment to delivering seamless gaming experiences while minimising environmental impact.

Corporate social responsibility and community engagement

Soft2Bet believes corporate success should be measured by its impact on society, not just financial growth. The company donates monthly to children’s health charities with contributions reaching €147,000 in 2024 alone.

In Q1 2025, employees united to raise €50,000 to support a 12-year-old child battling late-stage brain cancer, demonstrating how grassroots initiatives can drive meaningful change.

Beyond financial contributions, the company actively participates in environmental conservation efforts, including tree-planting initiatives to help reduce carbon emissions. It has also launched a March 2025 initiative supporting women in crisis, providing career counselling, mental health resources, and financial assistance to those in need.

To celebrate milestones, encourage collaboration, and give back to the community, it has organised a range of initiatives, including:

  • World Safety at Work Day (April 2024): On 29th April, employees took part in quizzes and information sessions highlighting the impact of climate change on workplace safety. Educational materials reinforced key safety practices.
  • Environmental Clean-Ups (2024): Employees participated in multiple clean-up initiatives. On 4th May, the team gathered at Riviera Beach to remove plastic waste, finishing with a team lunch at Singita. Another initiative at Buskett brought employees and their families together to clear waste and help restore the natural surroundings, with children actively involved in learning about environmental responsibility. The day ended with a picnic, strengthening the sense of community.
  • Office Support Heroes Day (June 2024): The company recognised the dedication of its office keepers, surprising them with gifts as a token of appreciation.
  • Pink October (October 2024): Breast Cancer Awareness Month was marked with educational sessions, fundraising activities, and donation drives to support breast cancer research and treatment initiatives.
  • Tree-Planting Initiative (January 2025): Employees planted 125 trees, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability while enjoying a rewarding team-building experience.
  • Women’s Day Panel & ‘She Cares’ Initiative (March 2025): A panel discussion featured four team members sharing their experiences, challenges, and successes. The company also organised a month-long donation drive through the ‘She Cares’ Initiative, supporting Dar Merhba Bik, a shelter in Malta that provides safe housing and support for women and children escaping domestic violence.

Portelli said: “Every initiative, whether environmental, social, or wellness-focused, reinforces our corporate values and strengthens our team as a whole.”
