Snoqualmie Casino launches sports betting app in Washington
The venue became the first in the state for legal sports betting in September.
US.- The Snoqualmie Casino in Washington State has launched mobile sports betting after becoming the first operator in the state to accept legal sports wagers in September.
The Snoqualmie Casino Sports app allows players to make wagers from their mobile device while within a geofenced perimeter of the Snoqualmie Casino property.
In December, geolocation specialist GeoComply announced that its on-premises mobile solution PinPoint would be used at the operator’s casino.
The app includes betting lines for all available wagers, bet slips, promotions and account information. It also allows for in-game betting.
Standard Le, CEO and President of Snoqualmie Casino said: “We are excited to be the first casino to introduce the convenience of mobile sports wagering. Whether it is sitting at their favourite restaurant or slot machine, [visitors] can bet without ever standing in line.”
In July, Governor Jay Inslee approved tribal deals to allow sports betting in Washington state’s casinos. Gov. Inslee approved agreements with 15 tribes while another tribe was okayed by the state Gambling Commission.
Washington tribal sports betting could generate $94m in five years
In November, a study conducted by the Washington State University found that sports betting at the region’s tribal casinos could become a $94m business in the next five years.
The research found that nearly 14 percent of Washington residents are likely to participate in the emerging sports betting industry.
The Washington University, which presented the work to the Washington State Gaming Commission, said the figures are a reflection of the enthusiasm for professional and collegiate sports wagering. It is estimated that sports betting at tribal casinos will create an estimated 273 direct jobs.
