Slot machine revenue posts slight rise in Pennsylvania
Revenue for slot machines increased 0.4 per cent in the state during May operations.
US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board revealed on its website the monthly report for total gross revenue and tax revenue generated from the play of slot machines at local casinos during May 2018.
The report shows that combined gross revenue from slot machines at the 12 state casinos in May of this year was US$203.9 million, 0.4 per cent higher than the May 2017 gross revenue figure of US$203.2 million.
Valley Forge Casino Resort posted the biggest revenue increase as it totalled US$7.9 million during last month’s operations, which represents an 11.6 per cent increase when compared to the US$7.1 million registered during the same period last year. Part Casino follows on that list with a 4.7 per cent increase to US$35.7 million.
Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem posted the second biggest amount of revenue last month at US$27 million, closely followed by Rivers Casino, which reported a 2.4 per cent increase to US$22.6 million. On the flip side, Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin posted the smallest revenue and the biggest percentage fall with US$2.4 mllion, a 10.7 per cent decrease over May 2017.
The average number of slot machines operating throughout Pennsylvania was 25,840 in May 2018 compared to 26,092 in May 2017. Moreover, tax revenue from May 2018 was US$106.4 million.
