Sky River Casino holds groundbreaking ceremony for hotel

US.- A a groundbreaking ceremony has been held for construction of a hotel at Sky River Casino in California. The event included an exhibition of renderings and historical milestones from Wilton Rancheria and Sky River Casino’s history. The plan is for a 300‑room hotel next to a ground‑level glass atrium. There will be a spa, outdoor pool, event venue, high-limit gaming area and expanded food and beverage offerings.
In March, Sky River Casino opened its expanded 20,000‑square‑foot gaming floor. The space features 312 new slot machines, increasing the total to 2,500. The casino also has 81 table games and 18 restaurants, bars and lounges. Wilton Rancheria built the casino in partnership with Boyd Gaming Corporation, the manager of the property.
Michael J. Facenda, president and general manager of Sky River Casino, said: “Every element of this hotel is being shaped with intention. This next chapter is centred on hospitality that delivers an upscale, energetic, and international experience that awakens the senses. Once complete, the hotel will create new jobs and pathways for employment that help move the community forward.”
Jesus Tarango, chair of Wilton Rancheria added: “Before we broke ground on Sky River, we made a promise to our Tribal citizens, to the community, and to the future. Today, we renew that promise, and we go further. Because we are not developers chasing an opportunity, we are a people reclaiming what is ours, and building something that will provide, sustain, and uplift the entire region for generations.”
