Italy.- Flutter has named Sian Carson, its former group chief people officer to the same role at Sisal. Carson will oversee Sisal’s human resources and organisational design as it aims to expand in Italy and elsewhere. She has spent eight years at Flutter and its predecessors, including three years in group-level HR at Flutter. That included time as talent director at Flutter International.

She previously served in HR at Flutter’s Australian betting brand Sportsbet and at Paddy Power.

Sisal CEO Francesco Durante said: “I am very happy about Sian joining the company’s leadership team. I am convinced that with her support we will further strengthen our ability to drive Sisal’s growth in Italy and abroad, investing in the centrality of people and skills that are fundamental for an increasingly sustainable, digital and international company.”

Carson said: “I am delighted to enthusiastically welcome this new professional challenge in a group that employs more than 3,000 people in five different countries and with an ambition of continuous growth in the near future, strong in its strategy that has always put people at the centre.”

Flutter bought the Italian national lottery operator Sisal from CVC Capital Partners Fund VI in August 2022 for €1.91bn. The operator bid to run the UK National Lottery but lost out to Allwyn. In February, Sisal won an eight-year licence to operate sports betting in Morocco.

In April, Sisal announced the unification of its Italian operations into one single legal entity, named Sisal Italia SpA. The reorganisation merged the lottery division Sisal Lottery Italia with the gaming business Sisal Entertainment.
