Silver Star Hotel & Casino to temporarily close for upgrades
The venue will close for two brief periods.
US.- Silver Star Hotel & Casino in Mississippi will be closed during two periods in November for work on upgrades. Pearl River Resort said the venue will close November 3-8 and November 24-26. Neighboring venues Golden Moon Hotel & Casino and Dancing Rabbit Inn will remain open.
improvements at Silver Star, including elevator upgrades and guest room renovations are already underway in phases. “These improvements will bring a more modern, comfortable, and seamless experience for every guest,” the casino said in a Facebook post.

Pearl River Resort interim president and CEO Tim Hill commented: “This is more than maintenance, it’s momentum.”
Pearl River Resort is owned and operated by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. It has 503 guest rooms, including 84 suites, and over 1,200 slot machines including reel and video slots, video poker and video Keno, plus 40 table games.
Meanwhile, Sam’s Town Hotel and Gaming Hall in Tunica, Mississippi, will permanently close on November 9 after more than 30 years. Its hotel will close on November 2. In a statement to The Commercial Appeal, operator Boyd Gaming said the decision was a result of market conditions.
