Seminole Hard Rock Tampa to expand smoke-free gaming
Renovations will begin in October, while a temporary casino will open in September.
U.S.- Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa is preparing to expand its smoke-free gaming area in response to growing demand. The expanded area will hold approximately 40 per cent of the property’s slot machines.
Renovation work is scheduled to begin in October, with the Hard Rock Event Centre serving as a temporary smoke-free casino from September. The venue will operate 24 hours a day during the transition.
The temporary casino will feature 682 new slot machines and 34 table games relocated from the existing casino floor, offering Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker, Mississippi Stud and Roulette. Cash centres and ticket-redemption services will operate inside the Event Centre, while the main casino cage will remain open. The primary casino floor will receive 243 additional slot machines during the renovation.
The new area will include portions of the casino floor between the Elvis piano display and Cipresso restaurant, as well as areas around the hotel lobby and L Bar. Hard Rock said the project will involve replacing carpets, chairs, gaming table felts and ceiling treatments. Existing smoke-free venues, including the Draper Room, Rock Spa & Salon and Mezzanine Casino, will remain unchanged. Other resort amenities and restaurants will remain open throughout the renovation.
