Royal Dragon Casino opened in Macau

The facility opened its doors yesterday morning with 20 gaming tables that had been relocated from another venue.

Macau.- Royal Dragon Casino and its hotel finally opened its doors in Macau on Wednesday morning. Macau’s casino regulator Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau confirmed to GGRAsia that the facility opened with 20 gaming tables that had been relocated from an unknown venue.

Whilst it was recently confirmed that the entity received an application to operate the facility under SJM Holdings LTD’s gaming license, it’s still uncertain if it counts as a new venue or if it’s taken over the privileges from an existing license.

Chang Meng Kam, the new chairman of Hotel Royal Dragon, said during the opening ceremony that casino tables in the property are mass-market ones from a nearby casino from SJM Holdings, but didn’t say which one. “The venue was designed to house 25 gaming tables. We are going to open first and will review the number of gaming tables later,” he said. Other guests at the opening include chairman of Macau VIP gaming investor Suncity Group, Alvin Chau Cheok Wa.

DICJ director Paulo Martins Chan told local media earlier this week that the regulator was still processing the application from the facility to transfer gaming tables to the venue, and it was later reported that the government had approved the relocation.
