Romania blacklists another 20 iGaming sites

The latest list of unauthorised gambling sites includes one from bet365.

Romania.- The National Gambling Office (ONJN) has added another 20 names to its list of unauthorised gaming sites that must be blocked by internet service providers (ISPs), including one from bet365.

The list includes the sites 488365.com, a domain that links to bet365, plus dot.com sites Megapari, Luckycasino, Megaslot, Slothunter, Crazy Fox, Casinobuck and Gambola.

The ONJN created its blacklist of iGaming sites back in 2015 before Romania went live with its regulated online gambling market the following year. Bet365’s dot.com site was blocked in October 2015 and its licence was withdrawn.

The 1,184 ISPs operating in Romania have 48 hours from receiving notification to block the sites.

Anyone in the country then attempting to visit the sites will be redirected to a message that states: “Your access to this site has been restricted by the National Gambling Office” and going on to detail ONJN’s powers to block access to the sites.

Fivecasino.net, 22-bet.net, 1xslot41623.com and two sites from Ego Casino must also be blocked in the latest additions to the list, which now lists 1,313 blocked domains. The ONJN blocked 41 gambling sites in May.
