Rivers Casino ready for its sportsbook
The upstate New York facility Rivers Casino will start accepting bets at its sportsbook tomorrow.
US.- Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady will begin taking bets on sports at its sportsbook tomorrow. The facility has scheduled the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the lounge for 10 am tomorrow, though the event still awaits final approval from state regulators.
An invitation obtained by the Times Union reads: “We are hopeful that Rivers Casino makes history by being the first casino in the state to take a legal wager on a sporting event.”
The new lounge will be adjacent to the Van Slyck existing one, which is located off the main gaming floor. The viewing area of the sportsbook will feature a 53-foot-long video wall and table seating that can accommodate around 80 people. This new sportsbook is set to improve visitor’s experience too.
Brad Maione, State Gaming Commission spokesman, said that there is no formal timeline to complete the license application process. “It is dependent on when the properties get their completed material in to the commission,” Maione said.
