Rio Hotel & Casino unveils new baccarat room

The location is part of the resort’s multi-year renovation.

US.- The Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has unveiled its new baccarat room with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The opening of the gaming space is part of the resort’s multi-year renovation.

The room is located off the main casino floor. The casino transformation has included the recent openings of Canteen Food Hall, Lapa Lounge and Luckley Tavern & Grill.

In October 2024, the venue announced the completion of the first phase of its multi-year renovation with a 117,000-square-feet renovated gaming space with new carpeting and over 900 new slot machines. Renovations also include the restaurant area with the Canteen Food Hall, a culinary marketplace that opened in January. The venue also features over 220,000 square feet of newly renovated meetings and conventions space, with four ballrooms ranging from 11,000 square feet to 55,000 square feet.

Nevada gaming revenue drops slightly in March

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has reported that the state’s casinos generated $1.28bn in gaming revenue in March. That’s a decrease of 1.1 per cent year-on-year, but an increase compared to February’s revenue of $1.21bn. Nevada saw the largest sports betting handle in 16 months due to March Madness.

The Las Vegas Strip generated $681.7m, down nearly 5 per cent year-on-year. Clark County as a whole, which includes the Strip, downtown Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, the Boulder Strip and surrounding areas, generated $1.1bn, a 1.7 per cent decrease. Washoe County, which includes casinos in Reno, Sparks and North Lake Tahoe, generated $81.8m, up nearly 7 per cent year-on-year. Slots accounted for $918.8m of all revenue, up 5 per cent compared to March 2024. Table, counter and card games revenue decreased by 9 per cent to $357.4m.
