Resorts World Las Vegas to open in summer despite Covid-19
Resorts World Las Vegas is around 90 per cent complete. It will create 6,000 jobs when open in summer.
US.- Senior management has insisted that Resorts World Las Vegas will open in summer despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Company president Scott Sibella said: “We hope Covid is behind us. If COVID isn’t behind us, we hope it is less restricted. But we’re opening next summer either way.”
He said that construction, which is around 90 per cent complete, is “rapidly moving forward.”
The Las Vegas casino industry has suffered a considerable downturn due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, with many job losses at casinos, but Resorts World Las Vegas has already begun filling the 6,000 roles that it will create.
Sibella said the resort will be predominantly smoke-free, with the exception of the casino. Other casinos in Las Vegas have similar policies, but Park MGM is the only property with a full smoking ban including on its gaming floors.
