Resorts Casino Hotel launches sportsbook

The Atlantic City facility has launched its own sportsbook this week, ready to compete with other giants in the state.

US.- Resorts Casino Hotel has officially launched its sports betting operations in New Jersey this week, as the Atlantic Property inaugurated an interactive lounge in which guests can try the facility’s own sportsbook.

Mark Giannantonio, president and CEO of Resorts Casino Hotel, said: “As the birthplace of casino gaming in New Jersey, Resorts Casino Hotel is thrilled our state has authorised legal sports betting as this marks a great advancement for the gaming industry.

“The opening of our new sportsbook will set a precedent for sports betting in Atlantic City, offering an elevated gaming experience for our loyal guests. We are proud to introduce the accessibility of an on-property sports book, further strengthening Resorts as the place to experience New Jersey’s best-in-class gaming.”

The state reported that during its first full month of sports betting activity operators totalled US$3.83 million. Meadowlands leads the market as it reached the US$1.36 million mark, while Ocean Resort, which reached a deal with William Hill to operate its sportsbook, totalled US$1.04 million. Monmouth Park, also under William Hill’s site, took in US$856k, MGM Borgata took in US$562k and Bally’s collected US$17.7k.
