Primorye welcomes casino proposal
The gaming zone in Russia received a proposal from CJSC Shambala to build a casino.
Russia.- State owned Development Corporation of the Primorsky Territory revealed that it has given the permission to gaming operator CJSC Shambala to build a casino resort in the gaming zone that is located outside Vladivostok.
The announcement comes a few days after it was reported that no official bids for plots earmarked for the development of casinos in the Primorye area had been made. Primorsky Krai Development Corp launched in July the independent auctions for the three casinos in the region and initially set the deadline for August 28 to present four to five stars casino and hotel projects, which would require a minimum investment of US$120 million to US$300 million.
CJSC Shambala currently operates a casino in the Azov-City gaming zone in Krasnodar Krai, Southern Russia but it has been forced to stop operations by January 2019 as they’re paving the way for the new gaming zone Sochi.
Maxim Smolentsev, CJSC Shambala president, said in a presentation to the Development Corporation that the company wanted to build an ambitious project and bigger than what they’ve done before. The proposed resort would feature a five star hotel and the first phase would cost US$34.5 million.
