Poker market grows in New Jersey

The state maintained a good performance in its online and live poker industry.

US.- Although New Jersey still hasn’t reached its potential in the poker market, they managed to maintain and surpass the 2015 performance, with US$4.33 million registered in December, up from the US$4,27 reported during the same period in 2015.

Online poker in the state was up compared to December 2015: it increased six percent year-on-year and reported US$2.1 million. Whilst the online industry was u, the live setting went through an underwhelming performance compared to the same period a year before, when they registered US$2.3 million, a little higher than the US$2.23 million from December 2016. The results are still considered relatively good, since New Jersey had been growing exponentially since September, but stopped after they went through a flat revenue in November.

Whilst September experienced a three percent gain, October was the highlight with a nine percent growth overall. According to Card Player, Atlantic City regulators confirmed that the gaming win in the city in 2016 was US$2.6 billion, the first year-on-year increase of the industry in a decade.
