Pinnacle withdraws licence application in the UK

Online betting operator Pinnacle confirmed on its social media channels that it will no longer seek a UKGC license.

UK.- Pinnacle, the Malta & Curaçao-licensed online betting operator, informed through its social media channels that it has withdrawn its application for a United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) licence. The company had been pursuing it and planned to launch a UK site during early 2017 but saw no progress in its application and decided to abandon that goal.

“Although we are eager to serve the UK betting market, the decision has been made that now is not the right time,” the company said in a statement. Pinnacle will now focus on the launch of its new B2B sportsbook platform ‘Pinnacle Solution’ – announced last week – in order to strengthen its regulated market presence.

The company had already withdrawn from the local market in 2014 but promised to return, something that seems distant at the moment. However, Pinnacle assured it “remains committed to bringing its low margins, high limits and unique winners welcome policy to the UK market when the time is right.”
