Philadelphia casinos to open at full capacity by June
Philadelphia’s casinos will be allowed to open without restrictions after June 11.
US.- Philadelphia’s casinos are set to open at full capacity from June 11, two weeks after state-wide Covid-19 restrictions in Pennsylvania have been lifted.
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced that state-wide restrictions will end on May 31, but Philadelphia will still be under local anti-Covid-19 measures for nearly another two weeks.
Philadelphia has been the hardest hit city in the state, but will allow its two gaming venues to open at 50 per cent capacity – or 75 per cent if they meet ventilation requirements – from May 21
Joseph Billhimer, senior vice president of Pennsylvania casinos for The Cordish Companies, said: “We’re going to be able to welcome a lot more guests than may have stayed away during the pandemic.”
All attendees will still be required to wear masks. According to Gov. Wolf, that will only change once 70 per cent of the state’s adults are fully vaccinated.
