PGCB levies fines totalling US$105k

The board has revealed that it approved two fines against two operators in the state.

US.- Two casino operators in Pennsylvania have been fined US$105k by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). The fines have been set against SugarHouse and Holdings Acquisitions.

The gambling regulator from Pennsylvania said that the fines were the result of Board approvals at its public meeting of consent agreements between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and Holdings Acquisitions, Co., LP and SugarHouse HSP Gaming.

Holdings Acquisitions, Co., LP, operator of the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, received a fine of US$90k for underage gaming. It stemmed from seven incidents in which individuals under the age of 21 accessed the gaming floor.

Furthermore, Sugarhouse HSP Gaming, LP, operator of SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, received a US$15k fine for an intoxicated patron incident. “The fine of $15,000 against Sugarhouse HSP Gaming, LP stemmed from a failure to properly monitor the serving of complimentary alcoholic drinks to a patron which permitted the patron to game in an intoxicated state and cause multiple disturbances at the casino,” said the PGCB.
